Business Transition

Curriculum

As a student of Cambridge Technical Business Transition, you will develop knowledge and skills in a wide range of business areas. These include the purpose of businesses, business organisation, people in organisations, marketing, and business finance. You will develop and improve on your organisation skills by working to deadlines as well as your research and referencing skills throughout all your assignments. You will gain an insight into how small businesses are set up, organised and ran, as well as understand the importance financial understanding has on the success of start-up businesses. These skills are fully transferable across other subjects as well as into the workplace. Your assignment briefs will draw on your knowledge of both the local community as well as national and international businesses.

Progression

Cambridge Technical provide a strong base for progression to apprenticeships, work or degree level courses.

Careers

There are a range of careers you can move into after studying Business and you can choose to specialise in any of the following areas: Accounting and Finance, Management, Retail and Sales, Media, Marketing and Advertising, Human Resources.
In September you will complete a unit of work which will determine whether you are level 2 or level 3.

Additional Entry Requirements

2x GCSE grade 4 incluing English Language or English Literature.

Assessment

Portfolios/coursework and exams.

Opportunities for work related activities

You will be required to volunteer in a range of business environments and have relevant encounters with employers to help support your learning of each unit.
