Punctuality at Post 16

Dear Parent / Carer
We are writing to inform you that as a result of students being significantly late to their timetabled lessons, we are introducing a punctuality management process in order to improve the current picture. Lateness is disruptive to taught teaching sessions and is dramatically affecting the learning of students who are on time.
This is for students who are consistently late to lessons, supporting them to learn the valuable life skill of good timekeeping.
From today, if a student is late to their timetable lesson by 10 minutes or more then one of the following situations may happen;

  1. Students will be turned away from the class and asked to complete e-mailed work under supervision in the Post 16 Eye.
  2. Students will be referred to attend a catch up/ punctuality workshops which runs during their non timetabled sessions.
  3. Students will be placed onto the Post 16 conduct policy and monitored.

In the event of an isolated incident of lateness, students and parents are encouraged to notify the P16 staff team of this lateness. Please call 0117 988 2525.

Warm wishes,

The Post 16 team
