Curriculum
As a student of Applied Science, you will be able to explore a varied and diverse curriculum across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. You will consider the science you are learning from the viewpoint of how it is important to the scientific industry.
Progression
With a track record built over 30 years of learner success, BTEC Nationals are widely recognised by industry and higher education as the signature vocational qualification at Level 3.

Nursing; animal care; science technician; sports sciences; food safety; radiography assistant; forensic scientist.
Entry Requirements
Students must achieve five GCSEs at Grade 5 or equivalent including Grade 4 in Science GCSE or BTEC level 2 merit and Maths and English to Grade 4.

External assessment (58%)
– Exams for Unit 1 in January of Year 12 and Unit 3 in January of Year 13
Internal assessment (42%)
– January to May of Year 12 and Year 13
Opportunities for work related activities
Visit to Bristol University science labs; guest speakers in microbiology and neuroscience.
