Work Experience

Our Work Experience Programme helps students gain valuable workplace experience, develop employability skills, and explore future career pathways. Whether students are considering university, apprenticeships, or direct employment, work experience provides valuable insight into the world of work and helps build confidence for the future.

Unifrog

We use Unifrog, our careers and destinations platform, to support students throughout their work experience journey. Through Unifrog, students can:

  • Search for local and national work experience opportunities
  • Explore employer profiles across a wide range of sectors
  • Create CVs and personal statements
  • Track placements and record skills gained
  • Receive personalised work experience recommendations

Unifrog provides a single platform where students can research, apply for, and reflect on work experience opportunities.

Not Impossible

Students also have access to Not Impossible, which offers virtual and employer-led experiences designed to develop key employability skills. Opportunities include:

  • Real-world industry challenges
  • Teamwork and problem-solving projects
  • Digital badges and skills recognition
  • Development of communication, creativity, and resilience

Springpod

Through Springpod, students can access high-quality virtual work experience programmes, including:

  • Interactive online work experience placements
  • Industry-led projects and tasks
  • Employer video masterclasses
  • Certificates of completion
  • Career insights across sectors such as healthcare, law, engineering, finance, digital, and the creative industries

These virtual experiences allow students to explore careers that may be difficult to access through traditional placements.

Supporting Future Success

By combining Unifrog, Not Impossible, and Springpod, we provide students with a wide range of in-person and virtual work experience opportunities. This ensures every student can develop workplace skills, gain career insight, and take meaningful steps towards their future education and career goals.
