Curriculum

Whilst studying Cambridge Technical Level 3 Business, you will develop a range of life skills including: team working, problem solving, independent learning and communication skills whilst gaining confidence to make yourselves stand out in a competitive working environment. You will take a proactive part in your studies by maintaining a good understanding of current affairs and applying this to your studies on the impact of the external environment on business.

Cambridge Technical Business will nurture your creative side in developing marketing and promotional campaigns, planning and pitching a business idea whilst also developing your financial skills when it comes to understanding personal finance in the form of; mortgages, lending, savings and investments. You will also have the opportunity to partake in project work to enable the development of teamwork and the skills required to manage and deliver a project.

Studying business at Level 3 provides transferable skills allowing you a smooth transition from an educational environment to a work environment by providing an insight to a multitude of business sectors and departments.

Progression

Cambridge Technical provide a strong base for progression to apprenticeships, work or degree level courses.

There are a range of careers you can move into after studying Business and you can choose to specialise in any of the following areas:

Accounting and Finance, Management, Retail and Sales, Media, Marketing and Advertising, Human Resources, Project Management.

Entry Requirements

4 x GCSE grade 4 or equivalent including English Language or English Literature or Maths grade 5.

Assessment

The Exam Board is OCR/RSA.

Portfolios/coursework and exams.

Opportunities for work related activities

You will be required to volunteer in a range of business environments and have relevant encounters with employers to help support your learning of each unit.
