Curriculum
As a student of Criminology, you will develop the skills required for independent learning and development including a range of generic and transferable skills that will support learning in other subjects. In addition, students will be able to develop the ability to solve problems using project based research and presentation skills. As the content of the course is closely related to the real world context, students will also be able to develop skills that allow them to work in a professional environment and understand the functioning of the criminal justice system and crime related incidents in more detail. Students will also be able to use techniques and a wide range of relevant information to analyse crime-related issues and problems.

Entry Requirements
Students must achieve five GCSEs at Grade 5 or equivalent including Grade 5 in English Language and Grade 4 in Science.
Assessment
The Exam Board is WJEC.
50% internally controlled assessment, 50% external examinations
Opportunities for work related activities
Opportunities may include visits to court, as well as meeting and networking with law professionals such as judges and lawyers plus an enrichment trip to Whitechapel in London to study the ‘Ripper Trail’.
