P16 Updates: Exams, Parents’ Evening and Job Opportunity
Dear Parent/Carers,
We are very proud of our students this week as so many of them have done a fantastic job of preparing for and sitting their exams. We know that this has been stressful and difficult for many of our students as some have never sat an exam in exam conditions before, but this was the very reason why it was so important. Thank you for all the support and encouragement that you gave to our students at this time. Most students have left their exam feeling positive and that they were able to do their best, which is all we ask. We know that, whilst difficult, these exams are valuable for helping students identify their strong points and the progress that they have made so far, as well as some areas to work on.
Teachers will be sharing their results with students over the next week, but you will also be receiving a report through the post w/c 22nd November allowing you to see your son/daughter’s progress, attendance, and attainment and identified improvement tasks.
On the 29th November (4.30pm – 7.30pm) there will be an opportunity for you to meet with your son/daughter’s teachers online and discuss their next steps and progress. We will be sending you an email with instructions on how to book the appointment and how to join the meeting within the next week.
We also wanted to inform you that, due to staff work meetings, students will be unable to access the first floor of the Eye on Wednesday 10th in the afternoon. The ground floor will be open and lessons will also continue as normal.
Finally, we are delighted to share with you an opportunity for employment. The CLF is recruiting for exam invigilators in order to support students during exams. This is a casual role and is paid £9.10 per hour. No experience is necessary and full training will be provided.
