Return to Post 16
Dear Parent / Carers
We are still navigating an ever changing landscape and now wait for the Prime ministers announcement tonight at 8pm to establish if all the planning we have in place over the last week will now need to change again. If there are changes form this announcement I will write to you again tomorrow and confirm the next plan!
We confirmed that we would update parents on the 4th January and so I wanted to write to remain committed to our promise.
At this point in the day iIam able to confirm the following ;
- Btec and Vocational exams that have been entered for yr 12 and yr 13 students are still planned to take place on JCA site and are a real external exam. All of these students should attend these exams following their timetables issued prior to the holidays .
- Yr 13 will have remote on line lessons this week until 11th January and will return face to face after being tested ( lateral flow testing)
- Yr 12 will have remote on line lessons this week until 18th January and will return face to face again after being tested.
Testing site has now been set up for Post 16 and will take place in JCA and begin on Wednesday. Students due to be over the age of 16 yr will give their own consent ( however it is optional) but if parents would like for their children to not be tested they can complete an opting out form. Otherwise we plan to test all students on a rota basis and will communicate direct with the students.
Of course of this planning may well change and we will provide the forms and greater detail tomorrow.
I can only apologise for the scale of change in the communication we are experiencing currently and having to respond to. We always want to keep parents and students in the picture with accurate updates and will continue to do this, whilst keeping students and families safe and provide a quality education.
With best wishes,
The Post 16 team
