These have been broken down into 15 key areas for GCSE resit:

Each area of the curriculum is broken down into key skills that you will need to support your use of Maths going forward. All of the knowledge and skills will be linked together through mathematical problem solving and decision making to allow you to obtain solutions to problems. You will practice working through one step or process or more than one connected step or process in order to solve these problems. Individual problems will often draw upon combination of any two or more of the mathematical content areas and therefore allow you to make connections between different mathematical content.

Curriculum

As a student of GCSE resit Maths, you will gain confidence and fluency in, and a positive attitude towards, mathematics. You will become more positive about your use of fundamental mathematical knowledge and skills. You will convey your confidence in using mathematics through demonstrating a sound grasp of mathematical knowledge and skills and applying it to solve mathematical problems. You will gain an understanding of the underpinning skills and basics of mathematical skills, appropriate to the level, and develop the ability to apply mathematical thinking to solve simple problems in familiar real world situations.

Assessment

Exam board AQA.

Assessment is in the form of three exams at the end of the course. Each exam is 90 minutes long and paper 1 is non-calculator whereas paper 2 and 3 are calculator papers.
