Sport – Level 3

BTEC National Extended Diploma - Level 3

Curriculum

As a student of Sport, you will develop an understanding of the body’s systems and understand the impact that they have on performance in sport. You will study the structure and function of each of these, how they work together and how they are influenced by external factors such as lifestyle. You will use this understanding to explore client screening and produce fitness programmes to support improvements in health and wellbeing.

You will also explore the range of careers available within the sport industry as well as how different sport businesses are structured and the skills needed to build, maintain and grow a successful business.

You will take part in practical sports activities and apply this then to developing a coaching approach that will lead into planning and hosting an organised sporting event. Through this experience you will develop the skills for officiating a range of sports and develop skills of leadership and organisation.
