 This newsletter will cover:

Assessments
Post 16’s new Temporary Buildings
Covid testing
Finance Meetings
Free School Meals
Bursary payments
Revision Sessions
During the Easter holiday, we will remain open in order to support students who would like to access facilities and support as they continue to prepare for their assessments. We will also have a member of our pastoral team on site every day in order to continue to support students with their wellbeing and pastoral needs. Please see the attached timetable for more information of when taught revision sessions will be available.
Please note that students must book in if they wish to attend on site in order for us to continue to maintain our Covid measures. The Bookings link can be found here: https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/[email protected]/bookings/s/gdUJbu2Vjk6-q2jk-uS9Cw2
Assessments
As you know, we are offering students as many opportunities for assessment as possible to enable them to demonstrate their best selves in order to support with Teacher Assessed Grades. Most students will have had an assessment in the past week. The next assessment window will be starting on May 3rd and students will have received information, including areas to revise in order to prepare for these, from their teachers.
Post 16’s New Temporary Buildings
We are very excited to be able to share with you that planning permission for Post 16’s new Temporary Buildings at John Cabot Academy has been submitted. We are on schedule to be able to move into these in September. Please find a flyer attached with more images of what this amazing space will look like. We will keep you updated as you come on this wonderful journey with us.
Covid testing
Students should continue to test themselves twice a week during the holiday and should record their results with the NHS and with ourselves.
In the event of a positive test, students should notify us using [email protected] and isolate until they have been able to carry out a confirmatory PCR (lab) test.
Please also continue to notify us of any positive test results in your household that requires your son/daughter to isolate.
Finance Meetings
Is your son/daughter going to university this year? Come and join us in TEAMs on Wednesday the 22nd April @ 6pm for an insight into Student Finance and the application process.

There will be a presentation followed by a Q&A session along with some helpful resources and signposting for further support.

Student Finance Information Evening for Parents, Carers and Students

Free School Meals
As part of the government’s scheme to ensure that no child goes hungry, vouchers will again be issued for this holiday. £30 vouchers (£15 per week) have been emailed to students’ Post 16 email addresses. These vouchers can be redeemed in many different supermarkets.
Bursary Payments
Bursary payments have now been made. Outstanding claims can still be submitted but these will not be paid until after Easter.

We wish you all a relaxing and enjoyable Easter break.
