Post 16 End of Term Updates

Dear parents/carers
We would like to inform you today that, following the detection of the presence on the JCA site of individuals who should not have been there, we initiated a lockdown proceedure. This was in line with our processes and at no time were our students in any danger.
We were very proud of the prompt response from our students, which demonstrated yet again the high levels of maturity and reliability in our community.
However, we would ask our Year 12 parents to remind their children that lanyards must be worn at all times when on site.
Whilst this means that the last day of term for our students has not quite been the day that we had planned, we would like to say again how thrilled we have been to work with your son/daughter over this past year. We look forward to welcoming our Year 13s back for their conference and Leavers events after the break.
Key Dates
Friday 28th May: INSET
31st May-4th June: Half Term
7th June: First day back
7th-17th June: Year 13 Conference
17th June: Year 13 Leavers Assembly and Prom
21st-25th June: Year 12 Assessments
16th July: Last teaching day of the year
19th-21st July: Year 12 Work Experience
Year 13 Leavers Events
Our Year 13s will be celebrating their time with us on 17th June with a Leavers Assembly at JCA at 4:00 followed immediately by the Leavers Party. Students have been part of the planning and preparation for the event and will have received an email from Ms Sheardown with a link to allow them to book tickets. These events are free and we would love to see all of our leavers there to celebrate with them their extraordinary successes in the face of all the challenges that they have overcome.
Teacher Assessed Grades

Quality assurance has been ongoing during this term for the Teacher Assessed Grades. During and after half term we will continue to work with other experts across the Cabot Learning Federation to review the grades and evidence to ensure every student’s grades are fair, consistent and free from bias. This will include moderation by the exam bodies on samples of work.

The final grades will be shared with exam boards on 18 June 2021 following final signoff by Ms Cooper.

Results will be shared with students on Tuesday 10th August, when students will be able to collect their results from the Eye and staff will be on hand to support them if they have any questions.

Warm wishes
