Start of new Academic Year Info

Dear all,

I hope that you have had a restful summer and are looking forward to more learning this year.
We’re very much looking forward to welcoming you back and being able to show you the new build, which is making excellent progress.
We wanted to share with you some key information concerning the start of term.
Arrangements are as follows (please carry on reading for more information):
  1. Covid Tests on 31st August
  2. Year 13 Induction Day Friday 3rd 9:30-2:30
  3. Learning begins Monday 6th September
  4. Students with U grades please read below for important information
  1. Covid Tests
As per government recommendations, we are asking all students to take two Covid tests onsite to ensure that Post 16 remains a safe place for all.
These tests will take place on the 31st of August and the 6th of September.

If you provided consent for testing last year then you do not need to do this again.

These will be the new tests and so you will only need to swab your nose and not your throat.
Testing will take place in the Sports Hall at JCA: please come and wait outside the Sports Hall just before your appointment time.
  1. Induction Day
Year 13 Induction will take place in the Main Hall at JCA from 9:30-2:30 on Friday 3rd September.
Please ensure that you bring your lanyards and also your own refreshments for the day.
You will not need to bring anything else. All the information that you will receive for this academic year will be given to you on this day. Attendance is compulsory.
  1. Learning
Learning will begin on 6th September. Please consult the timetable that receive on the 3rd for further information.
  1. Students with U Grades
If you are one of the 38 students who received a U grade during your Mock exams or TAGs, you will not be able to continue until you have had a meeting with Ms Cooper. This meeting must happen before the 3rd.
