Update from Post 16

Dear parents/carers
As we move into the last week before the half term break, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the outstanding journey that our students have been on.
They have successfully worked from home to a full timetable during lockdown, continuing to work hard and to improve. Many of our Year 13s have completed their assessments and secured their next steps despite the strangeness of the world that surrounds them and our Year 12s are working hard to prepare for their assessments next Term. Thank you for your continued support of our students and our community.

Covid
We are saddened to say that a member of our community has tested positive for Covid-19. They had no close contacts in college and are doing well.
We also asked a group of students to work from home as a precautionary measure whilst awaiting a test result for another student and are pleased to announce that this result was negative and that all students who were working from home have now returned.
Please remember that students can access home testing kits in order to test for Covid-19 on a twice-weekly basis. These can be picked up from the offices in both JCA and BBA. Students who wish to be supported in testing at school can request this from their Heads of College.
Teacher Assessed Grades
We are continuing to assemble and externally moderate all of the evidence that will be used to form the Teacher Assessed Grades that will give our students their final grades. Please remember that this process is extremely rigorous and that our staff are not allowed to discuss the final grade in any way with students so please encourage your son/daughter not to ask questions. Your son/daughter will be provided with the list of evidence that will have been used to determine this grade.
The final grade will be communicated to students on Results Day on August 10th when students will be able to pick up their results from the Eye.
If you have any questions or if we can support in any way, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01179 8552525 or at [email protected].

Warm wishes
