Curriculum
One year course
As a Business student following a three-year sixth form route, you will study several qualifications;
- Level 2 BTEC First Certificate in Business (Equivalent to 3 GCSEs)
- GCSE Maths and/or English
At the beginning of our course, students will be introduced to the world of business: how businesses work, what they do, trends that affect them, how they operate and the factors that could determine whether they are successful or not. The unit also enables students to develop their entrepreneurial skills by developing a business idea for their local community. Students will learn about the costs involved in business and how a business makes a profit, how a business plans for success and to avoid financial difficulty, and how to put together financial statements. We will also explore the role of branding and promotion within business, allowing the learner to develop their own promotional campaign.

After completing Level 2, you may be offered a place on a Level 3 course. Level 3 BTEC/Cambridge Technical qualifications provide a strong base for progression to apprenticeships, work or degree level courses.
