ESOL

Entry Level 1 to Level 2

Curriculum

As a student of ESOL, you will develop your reading, writing, and speaking and listening skills. Interactive lessons will be based around everyday topics designed to help you function more successfully in the UK. At a higher level you will learn more formal and academic contexts. For each topic you will widen your vocabulary and improve your grammar. You will develop self-agency and practical study skills, building your confidence through practice, as well as becoming better at communicating.

Lessons will be enhanced by community trips, which will allow you to immerse yourself and practise your language skills in practical contexts.

Progression

Entry level students will be expected to take a second year of ESOL at a higher level to build on their skills.

Level 1 and 2 students will be given advice and guidance to help them transition onto other courses the following year.

Entry Requirements

Students will be expected to have an initial assessment before starting the course.
