ESOL

Curriculum

As a student of ESOL, you will develop your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. These will be based around every day topics, designed to help you function more successfully in the UK. At a higher level you will also learn more formal and academic contexts. For each topic you will be expected to expand your vocabulary and improve your grammar. You will develop and improve your study skills and confidence through practice, as well as becoming better at correcting yourself.

These lessons will be enhanced by some community trips which will allow students to practice their language in practical contexts.

Progression

Entry level students will be expected to take a second year of ESOL at a higher level to build on their skills. Level 1 and 2 students will be given advice and guidance to help them transition onto other courses the following year.

Additional Entry Requirements

Students will be expected to have an initial assessment before starting the course.
